Amalfi Cathedral against a spectacular rocky backdrop by Thomas Bugdoll

*** Attention: Real photography - no AI! ***

The spire of Amalfi Cathedral rises majestically into the sky - a silent dialogue between human architecture and the raw power of nature. Against the imposing rock face, it appears both powerful and fragile, like a symbol of time, faith and constancy. This photo captures a moment in which history becomes visible: The warm stone of the tower tells of centuries of Mediterranean culture, while the jagged rock face behind it recalls the untamed beauty of the Amalfi Coast.

The Cathedral (St Andrew's Cathedral) is the religious, historical and cultural centre of Amalfi. Amalfi Cathedral is one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Campania. A good 57 steps lead from the piazza to Amalfi Cathedral. The cathedral houses the remains of St Andrew the Apostle, the patron saint of Amalfi.

Amalfi is located in the centre of the Amalfi Coast and is a popular holiday destination in southern Italy. It is a town in the Italian region of Campania and the capital of the Amalfi Coast. The Amalfi Coast owes its name to this pretty town.

The Amalfi Coast, also known as the Costiera amalfitana or Costa d'Amalfi in Italian, is located on the west coast of Italy around 40 kilometres south of Naples. The stretch of coast between Positano and Vietri sul Mare has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997.
The Amalfi Coast is a good 40 kilometres of rugged and jagged coastline on the Italian Gulf of Salerno in the south of the Sorrento Peninsula. The most famous towns on the Amalfi Coast are Amalfi, Positano and Ravello.
