The Dam.
This is where it all started for Amsterdam: a dam in the Amstel.
Nowadays the centre of the city.
There are demonstrations, commemorations and celebrations.
The New Church next to the Dam is equally famous: this is where the Kings and Queens of the Netherlands have been crowned for centuries.
In the Palace on the left, there is then feasting and dining, and the new King/Queen is applauded (or booed ;) ) by 'the people'.
In short: there is always something to do!
