Amsterdam's canal houses are known for their stepped and bell gables. But the seemingly randomly placed buildings also stand out. One slightly higher with a larger staircase then another one with a small staircase then another one leading to a cellar and so every building is unique. That's what makes Amsterdam unique too.
Such beautiful old buildings also really lend themselves to being captured in an old nostalgic atmosphere. The retro style of the photo should also have been taken with an old-fashioned analogue camera, but because digital reproduction is unavoidable these days, we chose to use digital processing to capture the atmosphere these buildings deserve.
