The bronze statue of the weeping woman on sculptor Paul Moreau-Vauthier's grave is one of the many impressive sculptures on display at Pere Lachaise cemetery. The green-out bronze of the woman with her hands folded in front of her face depicts the sadness befitting a cemetery.
Paul Moreau-Vauthier is perhaps best known now for his memorial wall for the Victimes des révolutions (Mur des Fédérés) on Avenue Gambetta in Paris but the tomb on the Famille Moreau-Vauthier's family tomb at Pere Lachaise is also widely visited for its beautiful sculpture.
