There is almost nothing more iconic than Amsterdam's canals, especially when evening falls and the lights reflect in the still water. This photo shows the famous canal houses along the water in the warm glow of the street lights. The blue hour creates a magical atmosphere, where the city feels both lively and serene at the same time.
What inspired me about this image is the perfect balance between history and cosiness. You taste the city's rich history, but at the same time it feels familiar and homely.
For this shot, I waited for the moment when the light was just right and the city showed its most romantic side. The reflections in the water complete the picture and add extra depth to the image.
