The evening of 15 September 2025 is etched in my memory. Storm Amy raged across Zeeland and I found myself at the Delta works at Neeltje Jans, Westenschouwen. The wind was strong, but the skies were softly coloured - a magical combination of pastel orange, warm yellow and deep purple during sunset.
The waves slapped relentlessly against the basalt blocks, the salt hung in the air like a veil. I had to polish my lens after almost every few shots, but it produced razor-sharp images that captured the dynamics of water and sky.
Despite my physical limitations and the fatigue that followed, this evening felt like pure profit. There was no audience, just the sound of the sea and my camera capturing the moment. Here, in the wind, I found peace in motion.
