About the artwork

Heinz-Fritz Vespula

A more than brilliant professor, Heinz-Fritz Vespula studied at the University of Human Creativity & Innovation at Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoc in Wales. For years he worked day and night in his laboratory and finally he had realised his dream, the air cyclist. The air cyclist was not a simple creation. It required a combination of lightweight materials, precise aerodynamics and an ingenious system of pedals and propellers. After building it, Heinz-Fritz naturally had to test his creation. Unfortunately, that ended very badly. In the small town of Skomer in south-west Wales, Heinz-Fritz plunged off the rocks with the air bike. Months later, only the pedals and two gears were found. The professor had been swallowed by the rough sea. Only the blueprints remain in the Science Museum in London.
