About the artwork
Antwerp Centraal railway station, which was built in the 19th century, still features architectural details from that time. Particularly impressive is the mighty hydraulic bulwark, which is supposed to stop trains in an emergency. This is probably a relic from times when technology was less reliable than it is today.
The roof structure, which consists of individual riveted segments, as was common at the turn of the century, spans the entire width of the track system in an arch.
You would almost expect to see snorting steam locomotives here, but the modern trains bring the viewer back to the present and bridge the gap between history and modernity.
Black and white images are timeless and look particularly elegant, and they also go perfectly with many different interior design styles.
The picture is photographed in high resolution and shows the many fine details of the picture in optimum quality.
