About 15 years ago I visited Marrakesh in Morroco and went to see the Jardin Majorelle. And what a delight it was!
This photo art piece gives you an idea of just how stunning the scenery is within the garden. It shows the approach to the cubist villa that sits within the Jardin Majorelle. The garden was originally founded by the French artist Jaques Majorelle. The bright blue (Majorelle blue) cubist villa was designed in the 1930 s by Paul Sinoir. During the 1980 s, the garden was purchased by Yves Saint-Laurent and Pierre Berge, who restored the villa and then opened the villa and gardens to the pubic.
This is a popular destination on the tourist trail providing shady relief from the hot African sun. But it is also so picturesque, with clever planting of exotic plants and cacti, water features and colorful ceramic tiles, all interspersed with brightly colored plant pots and of course the blue villa itself.
Born in the South of England I now live half way up a mountain in Umbria, Italy. I work from my art studio looking out over fabulous views of the Italian countryside. I am so happy to share my artwork with you.
