Arctic foxes live in pairs or small groups, usually consisting of one male and several females with their young, but other combinations are also known (e.g., two males and several females). Probably all females in a group are related to each other. Arctic foxes are usually monogamous; a male will generally have young with only one female, even if several females live in the lodge. The other animals help raise the young.
