At the very end of sunset on the Rhône river (Arles, France), I take one last photo on this cold winter day, leaving the camera open for no less than 8 minutes. The water completely fades away, leaving only long reflective streaks from the reflecting city light. This 'long exposure' gives an artistic effect where it gradually looks more like a drawing or painting than a photograph. Finally, I converted the photo to black-and-white and added a few more local edits to direct attention to the 'right' places in the picture.
