The picture was created from a photograph of a lake shore. The colours and the lines of the perspective of the lake along the shore were and are decisive for the chosen image detail: in the left foreground and right background of the picture, the shoreline vegetation and the reflections of the sun's rays pressing into the centre are dimly visible.
The picture is based on this schematic quality.
The alienation of the concrete - its abstraction - exposes the effect of the surfaces, colours and lines: it allows the viewer to look past what was previously obvious and opens up the space for an interpretation of what is probably in what one sees.
This is not without irony:
No new colours or objects were removed or added in the editing process. They are an integral part of the original scenery and invite us to surmise its origins.
