The Bürgerpark was created in 1903 in the Köppernitztal valley of the former seaside town of Wismar. The continuation of this park was prepared for the 1st Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Garden Show in 2002. The park now forms the gap between two districts of what is now the Hanseatic city of Wismar.
