In 1985, BMW finally brought out an independent design again as far as convertibles were concerned and presented the BMW E30/2C as a four-seater convertible at the IAA in Frankfurt. And this E30/2C convertible once again confirmed BWM's slogan of "the joy of driving" in every respect.
A high-torque 3 Series Cabriolet suitable for everyday use, which was also available from 1988 as an M3, initially with 195 hp, and later as an Alpina B6 3.5 litre with an in-line six-cylinder engine delivering 254 hp in 1989.
