This woman was working in one of the many rice fields in Bali, Indonesia. Dressed in a traditional wicker hat, she was busy at work with several other women but wanted to pose for a moment.
The cultivation of rice in Bali has traditionally been small-scale, with many fields for their own use. Rice is an important food source in these parts. The whole harvest is manual work, cutting the stalks, beating the rice grains from the stalks, sieving to remove the chaff etc. Heavy work, with everyone helping each other work on the various plots of land.
