About ‘Banana"Tree"’ by Thomas Bugdoll
The banana plant is also often called a banana tree because it has a pseudo-stem. A new leaf is always pushed up from the centre of the plant so that it can then unfold. This pseudo-stem can reach a circumference of a good three metres. I photographed this specimen on La Digue (Seychelles),
