Bargerveen is an extensive nature reserve in the south-east of Drenthe. Staatsbosbeheer is trying to bring back the raised bog here. For this the groundwater level must be high and the area is cut through with dams and dikes. The result is a diverse area with a great variety of flora and fauna and sometimes breathtaking landscapes.
