About the artwork
A basement window of Paushuize seen from the Nieuwegracht, under the Pausdam bridge. Paushuize owes its name to the only Dutch pope, Adrian VI, who had the house built from 1517. However, he never inhabited this house. Since then, the building has had various functions. Among others, it was the residence of King Louis Napoleon, workspace and residence for the Queen's Commissioner, and hotel. The photo was taken in the evening of 22 March 2013. Dark Utrecht.
