About ‘Beach Summer Watercolour Painting’ by Karen Kaspar

Beach Summer is a loose watercolour painting of a quiet beach on the Baltic Sea in summer, which I painted plein air on holiday a few years ago. I can still feel the gentle summer breeze on my skin, the warm sun on my face, the sand between my toes, I can hear the sound of the waves rolling onto the shore. Every time I look at this little picture, I dream myself back to that beautiful summer day on the beach of Prerow on the Darß in Germany, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. You too can bring a piece of the beach into your home. 20

I have been a passionate artist since childhood. I work in traditional painting techniques such as watercolour, acrylic, pastel and drawing with charcoal, pencil and ink. For me, inspiration is everywhere around me. My favourite subjects are flowers, animals (especially cats and birds), landscapes and colourful abstract paintings. I love to create pictures with which I can convey joy and happiness to other people.
