The name Opal Coast, coined by painter Édouard Lévêque in 1911, reflects nature's enchanting symphony of colours, inspired by the precious gemstone opal.
The area takes you on a spectacular journey along 23 km of the Opal Coast, from Sangatte to Wimereux. Here, Cap Blanc-Nez and Cap Gris-Nez sparkle, with their 90-million-year-old white cliffs and 160-million-year-old grey cliffs. A veritable time machine along the coastline!
