This attractive photo art image, created in impressionist style, is of a bearded iris. It is created from my own photograph of an iris in my garden. The iris variety, Indian Chief, is a gorgeous combination of pink and magenta or maroon with a yellow beard that cascades down the downward sloping petals - they look like furry caterpillars! The petals are delicate, you can see the veins in them, and in the breeze they gently ripple. Here I have isolated the iris against a blue sky, with part of a tree taking up a large section of the image. I like the balance of the, almost, half and half aspect of this piece.
