About ‘Ben Youssef school Marrakech’ by By Luna

This image shows a detail of the exquisite carvings in the Ben Youssef Madrasa in Marrakech - one of the most impressive examples of Moroccan architecture and craft. The former Koranic school, built in the 16th century under Sultan Abdallah al-Ghalib, was once the largest study centre in North Africa.

The walls, ceilings and doors are crafted with extreme precision from cedar wood, each decorated with geometric motifs, arabesques and calligraphic details. Each pattern tells a story of repetition, rhythm and harmony - a visual translation of the spiritual values on which the madrasa was built.

The hand-carved wood reflects the age-old knowledge of Moroccan craftsmen: no pattern is identical, and it is precisely in this imperfection that the soul of the work lies. In the soft light of Marrakech, the cedar wood seems to breathe, like a silent reminder of a time when art and faith were inseparable.

An ode to craftsmanship, timelessness and the beauty of repetition - captured in a single fragment of wood.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
