About ‘Berlin - Old Library at Bebelplatz’ by Thomas Bugdoll

Bebelplatz (colloquially: Opernplatz) is a square named after the German Social Democrat August Bebel (1840-1913) in Berlin's Mitte district. It was built from 1740 onwards by order of Frederick the Great according to plans by Georg Wenzeslaus von Knobelsdorff in the Rococo style as part of the Forum Fridericianum. Bebelplatz consists of a green area to the east and an open area to the west of the State Opera House, which dominates it. It is bordered to the north by the boulevard Unter den Linden, to the east by the Prinzessinnenpalais, to the south by St. Hedwig's Cathedral and Behrenstraße, and to the west by the Alte Bibliothek and the Alte Palais.

The Old Library (formerly: Royal Library, colloquially: Commode) is an architectural monument at Bebelplatz 2 in Berlin's Mitte district and part of the Forum Fridericianum. Built from 1775 to 1780 by order of Frederick the Great according to plans by Georg Christian Unger in the Baroque style, it became a university building in 1910. Burned out during World War II, the Old Library was rebuilt from 1963 to 1969. Since then, it has been home to the Faculty of Law of the Humboldt University of Berlin.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
