The clouds slowly pull open like curtains of light, and behind them the rugged peaks appear - sharp, ancient, and untouched by time. The mountains rise from a sea of mist, like sentinels of stone preserving the silence of centuries. Their flanks shine sallow in the weak sunlight, where here and there a strip of green clings to the rocks, like life that refuses to budge.
On a narrow ledge, small as a breath in this grand setting, a few people stand. They seem to fall silent in wonder, absorbed in the majesty that surrounds them. Their stature is no more than a speck against the grandeur of the mountain, and therein lies the poetry - the meeting of man and nature, of breath and eternity, in the heart of the Dolomites.
