The stonechat is a true shorebird....
It forages in a characteristic way, tipping over all kinds of material (shells, pebbles, seaweed) with its bill to see if there is anything underneath (hence its English name 'turnstone').
Turnstones are unmistakable, especially in their fancy dress and can be found on the coast especially on dykes and breakwaters.
Unmistakable with distinctive markings on head and breast, orange-brown with black upperparts, short orange legs and short bill.
Photography is my biggest hobby/passion....
I photograph various subjects such as;
People/buildings/animals/flowers/holiday countries.
