About "Blendscapes - Tree (outtake)"

About the artwork

BLENDSCAPES is a collaboration between fashion designer Elsien Gringhuis and photographer Tse Kao. The designs of the garments are an abstraction of the landscapes of Schiermonnikoog. Elsien Gringhuis incorporated photographs by Tse Kao of the islanders' landscapes as prints in the garments. By photographing the garments in exactly the same landscapes, they created 'BLENDSCAPES'.

"Despite the amount of visitors, you hardly feel that there are other people on the island besides you. You can move around without encountering anyone and so disappear into the landscape. That feeling prompted a series of five outfits where you literally merge into the landscape. "

'BLENDSCAPES' was created as part of the Wad & Design Symposium, Schiermonnikoog. The photographs combined with the garments were exhibited on the island in September 2016. The series was picked up by the online community and went viral. The story was covered by magazines and blogs from Russia to Indonesia to the United States.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
