The town of Longyearbyen is the largest and northernmost settlement in Svalbard with a population of over 2,000. The town is characterized by different types of buildings, which stand out sharply against the characteristic winter landscape.
The bright green-blue colors and the symmetry between the containers and the sloping lines of the ice was reason enough to take this picture.
The photo was taken during an expedition trip on sailing ship S/V Northern Lights to Spitsbergen (Svalbard, Norway).
