The picture shows Vienna's famous Naschmarkt in the blue hour. The last market stall is just closing as dusk settles over the scenery.
In this picture, taken at the end of December, I was struck by the slightly melancholic mood of the almost deserted market. The strong colour contrast between the intense dark blue sky and the market stalls in the orange street lighting created a unique moment in the depth of perspective that I had to capture.
The last remnant of the otherwise hectic hustle and bustle was the single brightly lit market stall.
The photo was taken handheld with a Leica Q2.
The motif, colours and composition make this photo a beautiful, almost painterly mural, especially as a print: I have it hanging on my wall at home on acrylic.
