The Silberturm (also called Silver Tower or Silberling) in the railway station district of Frankfurt am Main is one of the best-known skyscrapers in the Main metropolis. From 1978 to 1990, the 166-metre tower was Germany's tallest skyscraper until it was surpassed by Frankfurt's Messeturm. Until 2008, the Silver Tower served as the corporate headquarters of Dresdner Bank and is therefore often referred to as the Dresdner Bank skyscraper or the Jürgen Ponto skyscraper after its location.
