The bluebird is a beautiful bird that is not to be missed in my opinion. Because it looks straight at us, it takes on a graphic shape.
The male has a beautiful courtship flight and sits singing on song stations in early spring like here.
The female is sitting somewhere on the ground and perhaps in the reeds below in her nest.
She looks a bit sallow, indicating that many ground-breeding birds have a camouflage colour like this against predators.
The species was initially scarce in the Netherlands around 1985
You had to go to the Oostvaardersplassen to see them.
Especially in mid-April, I came across them then.
The trend is still increasing.

Nowadays, you see them in many ditches with reeds.
