Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.

Located near the coastal village of Portknockie, this spectacular natural sea arch commands the coastline, drawing the eyes of travelers, photographers, and geologists from around the world.Sculpted Entirely by Nature's ForcesThis breathtaking structure was not created overnight. It is the result of a patient, multi-million-year masterpiece crafted entirely by the earth's most powerful elements:Ancient Beginnings: The rock's journey began hundreds of millions of years ago during the Ordovician period. Layers of quartz-rich sand accumulated deep on an ancient seabed. Over eons, immense heat and structural pressure fused these sediments into an incredibly durable metamorphic rock known as Cullen Quartzite.
Carved by Wind and Waves: Once pushed to the surface, the ocean took over as the ultimate sculptor. For thousands of years, the relentlessly fierce Scottish seas, crashing tides, and bitter winds battered the coastline. The water slowly exploited natural fractures in the stone, washing away the softer rock layers and hollowed out the iconic, spectacular natural sea arch.
What remains standing today is a striking, organic sculpture—resembling the elegant tip of a violin bow slicing through the water. It stands as a beautiful reminder of nature's dual nature: capable of both violent tectonic destruction and the delicate, slow carving of fine art.
