Sailing in the Ilulissat Icefjord in Greenland's Disko Bay (Disko Bay) has something magical about it. Between the icebergs there is a serene, but treacherous calm; any erosion or tipping of an iceberg can have major consequences. Still, it was special to float - with the engine off - between the ice rocks and enjoy this peace from the prow (the bow of the sailing ship).
The ice seen here is not sea ice, but calved sections of the Ilulissat Icefjord glacier.
