The port of Bowmore, on the Isle of Islay on the west coast of Scotland is home to mostly small fishing vessels. The port is protected in the Loch Indaal, a deep sea inlet.
The town of Bowmore, also the capital of Isle of Islay, is best known for its local whisky distillery, which produces an excellent single malt whisky.
I took this photo on a windy autumn day with a long shutter speed of 30 seconds, so the clouds, sea and surf faded away. This effect provides the desolate feeling this location can give you.
