The photo I took shows a young child standing on a dune with his back to the camera. The child is looking at the clear blue sky, which contrasts with the dunes.
The image evokes a sense of stillness and wonder, as if the child is seeing the world for the first time. However, the picture is not as spontaneous as it seems. I digitally added the dunes taken from another photograph to the original photo, which was taken on a cloudy day.
I did this to give the image more impact and to create an illusion of a bright day. As a photographer, I always keep in mind which images I can use for what, and in this case, the image of this child was the trigger for an edit.
As a photographer, I always make a consideration when taking photos in public places. I always do this while respecting the protection of the identity of the people I am capturing. I find that the beauty of photography, especially of children, only comes into its own when they are not directed. This allows me to show the true emotions and expressions of my subjects.
