The Brandenburg Gate (Brandenburger Tor) is a former city gate, rebuilt in the late 18th century as a triumphal arch, and now one of the most well-known landmarks of Germany. It is located in the city centre of Berlin. When the Revolutions of 1989 occurred and the Wall fell, the gate symbolized freedom and the desire to unify the city of Berlin.
