Bridge over the Suriname River. Connecting Paramaribo with eastern Suriname. The Jules Wijdenbosch Bridge is the bridge over the Suriname River between Paramaribo and the town of Meerzorg in the Commewijne district.
The bridge provides a faster connection between Paramaribo and the Commewijne district located on the opposite side, especially the town of Meerzorg. The purpose of the bridge is to promote the development of the eastern part of Suriname. Previously, this area was only accessible by ferry.
