About "Brooding across the Schelde"

About the artwork

One early morning, I was standing on the quiet beach of Breskens, in south-western Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. In the distance was Vlissingen, across where the North Sea turns into the Westerschelde. Although the day began without bright sunlight or colourful skies, a special atmosphere hung over the coast.

A dark rainstorm was moving towards the mainland from the south. Even before I could take my shot, the shower reached the beach and I was soaked. The threatening clouds and the silver-grey glow over the water gave the landscape a powerful and ominous character.

As the squall slowly moved towards Vlissingen and hung right over the city, an impressive spectacle emerged: the contours of Walcheren were surrounded by masses of clouds, the water reflected the grey light. That was the moment I took this landscape photo - an honest depiction of the changeable weather on the Zeeland coast, where wind, water and clouds play the leading role.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
