The Gulf Fritillary or Passion Butterfly (Agraulis vanillae) is a bright orange butterfly of the subfamily Heliconiinae of the family Nymphalidae. This subfamily was formerly separated as a separate family, the Heliconiidae. The Heliconiinae are "long-winged butterflies" which have long, narrow wings compared to other butterflies. Golf mother-of-pearl butterfly is the only member of the genus Agraulis.
