About the artwork

This watercolor portrait shows a Hindu woman in a gentle three quarter view. A single butterfly rests near the ear like a soft thought while a clear bindi centers the gaze. Color blooms drift across cheek and scarf yet the open paper keeps generous negative space so the silhouette stays crisp at large size. Up close you can find eyelash lines a quiet lip sheen and small specks that add texture without crowding the features.

I wanted intimacy more than spectacle. Sketches explored how far the palette could breathe while the face remained calm and luminous. Warm saffron and rose meet cool teal and indigo to hold a balanced festive mood where the viewer feels close to the moment.

The piece was built with layered transparent washes to model the facial planes. Selective glazing refined eyelids mouth and jaw curve while light dry brush set hair strands and the rim of the butterfly wing. A few lifted droplets suggest movement in the air. In interiors this portrait anchors a wall with refined color and prints cleanly at large scale for contemporary spaces.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
