Autumn photo of one of the most beautiful lakes in the Lake District, Cumbria. The lake is called Buttermere. When the gorse is in bloom there is a strong ' butter' butter smell. The lake is quite isolated in the rugged landscape. Nearby is an inn and a path leads to the lake which you can then walk all the way around. Autumn is a great time to see the autumn colours of the dying ferns, among other things.
