A beautiful evening street scene at the former Marmorhaus cinema on Kurfürstendamm in Berlin. The building opened in 1913 and takes its name from a large marble façade. The walls of the foyer and auditorium, designed by architect Hugo Pál, were decorated by the expressionist artist Cesar Klein.
The parked cars give us a rough idea of the year. The film being shown is "Mein Vater, der Schauspieler" (My Father, the Playwright). It premiered in September 1956. It was directed by Robert Siodmak and starred O.W. Fischer, Hilde Krahl, and Susanne von Almassy.
