The taxi-brousse (bush cab) is the means of transportation in the remote villages of Madagascar. These trucks converted to buses drive over the bumpy dirt roads from village to village. Everything can be taken along, people, animals, furniture, bicycles, food, etc. As long as it fits on the truck, it can be taken along.
Especially in the more remote villages, where only once a week a taxi-brousse comes, this is the highlight of the week. The village is resupplied and family members return home.
