The Calatrava bridges are three bridges over the Hoofdvaart canal in the Dutch municipality of Haarlemmermeer, designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava.
Calatrava designed three white cable-stayed bridges, each with an inclined steel pylon that has both an aesthetic and a structural function - typical of the Spanish architect's work.
The bridges were given the names of the instruments Harp, Citer and Lute because of the strings-like tethers.
The bridge in the picture is the bridge the Lute in Hoofddorp.
