I made this image as evening settled over Piazza San Marco. The Campanile rises beside the lace like arches of the Doges Palace, and warm lamps outline the square. I wanted the architecture to speak in a calm voice, so I waited for balanced light that would hold detail without harsh contrast.
A steady support and a moderate aperture carry clarity from the paving to the distant facade. Look for small notes that keep the scene human, like a lamp that burns a touch brighter and a seam in the stones that points toward the bell tower. I kept color natural and lines clean so the photograph would sit well in contemporary spaces.
The atmosphere is formal yet welcoming. For me this picture is about craft and measure, a place that invites you to stand still and notice how rhythm and proportion create ease.
