An abandoned castle in the middle of the forests of Italy. The building was built in Moorish style in 1605 and was restored between 1853 and 1889.
King Umberto of Italy, spent a night here in 1878. After the war, the castle was converted into a hotel, apparently without success. Despite an auction and several restorations, the castle has not been sold and has stood empty and abandoned since 1999. I could not find more information about this unfortunately.
The castle is very robust on the outside, and you wouldn't expect the inside to be a fairy tale. Each room is different in color and shape, from
beautiful gray / beige and brown tones to bright purple / blue spaces. A feast for the eyes.
