In the historic town of Potosí, Bolivia, a cobbled lane leads the eye up to a hill that dominates the horizon. The colourful facades of the houses, adorned with traditional details, add a touch of authenticity to this typical scene of the Bolivian Altiplano. This peaceful setting contrasts with the tumultuous past of the town, once famous for the silver mines that shaped its history. The hill visible in the background is a reminder of the natural riches of the region, which attracted Spanish settlers as early as the 16th century. Strolling through this alleyway, you can feel the soul of Potosí, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The charm of this town lies in its narrow streets full of character, its earth-toned houses and its majestic mountainous surroundings. Potosí is not only a testament to its mining history, but also a cultural jewel that invites exploration and contemplation. Every street corner seems to tell a part of its rich past.
