Ragged works of art they are, the decayed glory of the bright orange lanterns of Pfysalis, a much-loved garden plant. Late in autumn or spring, you find the lacy skeletons of the lantern plant's seed bladders. The veins gave sturdiness to the cheerful orange bulbs. If you pick them up with caution and store them, you can enjoy them for a very long time. To properly show the structure of this little work of art, I made the photo almost black and white.
