The Chocolate Hills, located in the province of Bohol in the Philippines, are one of the country’s most iconic natural wonders. This unique geological formation consists of over 1,200 symmetrical hills that span an area of approximately 50 square kilometers. What makes the Chocolate Hills so distinctive is their appearance during the dry season when the lush green grass covering them turns brown, making them resemble giant chocolate mounds, hence their name.

Geologists believe that the hills were formed over thousands of years through the erosion of limestone. In addition to the scientific explanations, local legends also surround the Chocolate Hills. One popular myth tells the story of two giants who fought by throwing stones at each other, and the hills were formed by the remnants of their battle.

The Chocolate Hills are a major tourist attraction in Bohol, and visitors can enjoy panoramic views from observation decks. They are a symbol of Bohol and an important part of the Philippines' natural heritage.
