The old parish church, La Chiesa di San Luigi Gonzaga in Tavernelle (Umbria, Italy) dates back to 1579. It is set in a small square just down from the Fontana del Leone (lion fountain) which is the work of the sculptor Gerolamo Ricotti who was born in Tavernelle in 1897. This image shows the back of the fountain. The stone built walls on the side of the church clearly show the earthquake proofing that has been undertaken with the building with diagonal metal struts providing additional support.
