For me, CircleSnake is a game with movement. I started by drawing circles, and lines developed from them that look like waves. Some run out of the picture, others come back in - almost as if the movement continues beyond the canvas.
The picture lives from this rhythm: circles that open and close again, lines that wind like snakes or flow like currents. I wanted to see how much dynamism you can create with just black and white - without colour, completely reduced.
For me, there is also this feeling that nothing is finished, that forms are constantly changing and growing beyond boundaries. Anyone who looks can see something different in it - snakes, water, perhaps even planetary orbits. That's what I like about it: that it remains open and doesn't just have one correct interpretation.
I work with whatever is right at the moment: Acrylic, photography, digital. A work may begin on canvas and end somewhere else entirely. I layer, discard, edit. Mixed media and collages are my style.
